What is a Canadian record suspension?+
A record suspension sets an eligible criminal record apart in the federal CPIC database. It does not erase the conviction, and it can be revoked or cease to have effect in certain circumstances.
Is a record suspension the same as a pardon?+
Record suspension is the current Canadian term for what was formerly called a pardon. Older applications and some people still use the word pardon.
Do I need a lawyer or service company?+
No. You can apply directly to the Parole Board of Canada. Our independent service helps organize records, check completeness and prepare the application; it does not provide special access or guarantee approval.
When am I eligible to apply?+
